Early Life
Carey Jason Philip Hart was born on July 17, 1975, in Seal Beach. He was raised in Las Vegas by his parents, who unfortunately divorced a few years later when he was still young. Carey and his younger brother Anthony were raised by their father, Tom Hart, a construction company owner.
After Hart’s parents divorced, his mother remarried, and Hart had a big blended family. Growing up with two fathers enabled Carey to have a good life. When he was four years old, his stepfather gifted him a motorcycle. By the time he was turning six years old, he had begun competing in races.
Career
Carey Hart began racing as a child, but he became professional at the age of 18 when he competed in the AMA Supercross circuit. Two years before the AMA Supercross, he sustained two broken femurs, broken tibia, and fractured wrists after he was involved in an accident while racing.
Hart became among the first riders who began competing in freestyle motocross in 1996. He was also the first individual to perform BMX trick “superman seat grab” at IFMA events between 1998 and 1999.
In 1999, he also performed the invert Superman, which led to the event being named Hart Attack, after him. He participated at the summer Gravity Games earning a bronze medal and Gold at the Australian X Games.
Hart has been famous, for attempting various moves while racing. In 2001, at the X Games in Philadelphia, he attempted the backflip but suffered a bad crash after he came off his bike at the beginning of the rotation.
